Supplier reviews are only useful to other researchers if they contain enough specific, verifiable detail to actually inform a decision. This post lays out what makes a review genuinely helpful, and what community standards we’re asking members to follow when posting one.

    What Makes a Review Useful

The most helpful reviews are specific rather than general. Instead of “good supplier, would buy again,” useful detail includes: what specifically was ordered and when, how communication went (response time, clarity, willingness to answer questions), whether the product arrived with a COA and whether that COA was batch-specific (see our guide on batch-specific COAs), how packaging and shipping were handled, and whether the experience matched what was advertised. Photos of packaging, labeling, or COAs (with any personal or order information redacted) add real credibility.

    Disclosure Is Mandatory

If you have any financial or promotional relationship with a supplier — an affiliate code, a discount for posting, a sponsorship, or free product in exchange for a review — disclose it clearly at the top of your post. Undisclosed promotional content undermines the value of every other review on this forum and will be moderated.

    What to Avoid

Avoid vague, unfalsifiable claims that can’t be checked by anyone else. Avoid posting personal order numbers, tracking numbers, addresses, or payment information — redact anything that could identify you or another customer. Avoid reviews that read like marketing copy rather than a first-hand account; if a review sounds like it was written by the supplier, other members will (correctly) discount it. And avoid discussing dosing, human use, or personal health outcomes — keep reviews focused on the supplier relationship (documentation, shipping, communication, product presentation), not on describing personal use of any compound.

    A Simple Structure to Follow

Consider covering: what you ordered and why, the ordering and communication experience, packaging and shipping details, documentation provided (and whether it was batch-specific), and an overall assessment with the reasoning behind it. You don’t need every category to write a useful review, but the more specific detail you include, the more useful it is to someone else trying to make an informed decision.

    Questions for Discussion

What details do you personally look for first when reading someone else’s supplier review? Are there review formats or templates other communities use that work well and that we should consider adapting here? What’s the clearest sign to you that a “review” is actually disguised marketing?

This post explains community standards for supplier reviews. It is not medical advice, and reviews should never include dosing or personal-use health information.
