A place to talk through stalled progress and plateaus — a common topic in any weight-related research discussion. Let’s keep this focused on the research and general patterns rather than personalized advice.
Topics for this thread
- Stalled progress and how researchers/participants think about it
- Appetite changes over the course of treatment
- Adherence to study protocols and its role in outcomes
- Exercise as a variable in weight and body composition trends
- Nutrition as a variable
- What the published research says about plateaus specifically
What the trial data actually shows
For what it’s worth, Lilly’s TRANSCEND-T2D-1 press release specifically noted that participants “continued their weight loss trajectory through 40 weeks” with no plateau observed in that trial window. TRIUMPH-1’s longer 80–104 week data likewise showed continued loss into the extension period for higher-BMI participants. That’s useful context, but it’s trial-level, aggregate data — individual patterns (including plateaus) can and do vary, and this thread is a good place to talk through that variation.
Keep it educational — this is a discussion of patterns and research, not a place for personalized dosing or protocol adjustments.
